oririfam
From the Latin oriri — to rise, to begin — and fam, for family.
Parent differently than you were raised.
A private journal for parents raising their children differently than they were raised. Log the moment, name the reflex you almost repeated, and let something quiet witness the choice you made instead.
BeginWatch the line begin to bend.
The first journal for Generation Cycle-Breaker.
You felt the pain from the flaw of your upbringing. You never want to bring that to your kid again. Write it down in this journal, and let something witness the choice you made.
Pick one you recognise.
These three moments are written examples, not anyone’s real entries. In the app, the reflection is written for what you actually wrote.
Each moment, three questions.
Why this exists.
I grew up with a lot of "no" — with no reason given, and no room to ask why. I built Oririfam because I wanted somewhere to put the moment honestly, and a way to tell whether any of it was actually working. Not another voice telling me what to do next. Just something that would confirm the hard thing I did was real.
— Kee Kiat, the parent who built this.
Over time, your choice of path gets visualised.
Your moments stop being a list. History draws what was handed to you, where you stand now, and what you're choosing to pass on — and counts the reflexes that stop with you. You can take it with you as a letter to yourself, or a one-page summary of what you've noticed.
Step through an invented history and watch the line fill in.
An invented history, shown to give the shape. Yours is drawn from your own moments, and nobody else can see it.
And when someone else has them.
Pick a few moments and Oririfam drafts a short note in your own words — what tends to set it off, what helps — for a grandparent, a nanny, or daycare. You edit it before it goes anywhere. Send it as a link or a PDF, and revoke it whenever you like.
The same moment, drafted for two different readers.
Bedtimes, and what helps
Dear Mum,
Thank you for having him on Tuesdays and Thursdays — he loves it, and so do I.
There's one thing I wanted to write down, only because it's easier on paper than in the moment.
Bedtime is where he comes apart. It's usually not about the teeth or the pyjamas — it's that the day is ending and he's run out of road. If he goes limp on the floor, that's tiredness talking, not defiance.
What helps is sitting down near him and waiting. Not much needs saying. He comes back on his own after a minute or two, and then he'll do the whole routine without a fuss.
The thing I try hard to avoid is anything about leaving — even as a joke. "I'm going without you" lands far heavier on him than it sounds.
None of this is a rulebook, and you know him. I only wanted you to have what I've worked out, so he gets the same thing in both houses.
An invented note. In the app it is drafted from moments you pick, in your words, and you edit every line before it goes anywhere.
Yours alone.
Your entries are locked to your account in the database itself, not just in the app. A mistake in the code can't hand them to someone else. Nothing is shared unless you build a caregiver note and send it. Delete your account and it's erased. Your words go to Anthropic to write the reflection. Anthropic does not use them to train its models.
Start with one moment.

If anyone may be in danger, Oririfam shows crisis lines for your country. It is a reflection and wellness tool, not therapy or clinical advice.
